Within the scope of the 2020-2023 National Smart Cities Strategy and Action Plan; Priority strategies and targets such as increasing smart city awareness, measuring smart city maturity levels of our cities with a common, systematic and Turkey-specific structure, facilitating smart city transformation, ensuring experience sharing in smart city transformation, ensuring that local governments understand and adopt smart city applications, and using resources effectively and efficiently together with these issues have been determined.
In this context, the Smart City Maturity Evaluation Model specific to our country has been prepared to ensure that smart city projects and activities in our country are compatible with the National Smart City Strategy and Action Plan and to provide a common language and a systematic structure in the evaluation and verification of the impact on the implementation of the strategy.
The Smart Cities Maturity Assessment Model aims to contribute to the smart city transformation of institutions in a structural, standard, consistent, effective and efficient manner. With this model, analysis studies in local governments and maturity assessment applications will be made in which the results of the analyzes will be evaluated. In addition, the evaluation of the current maturity levels of the cities and the priority smart city capabilities at the national level and the preparation of a Smart City Maturity Development Program specific to each city will be of great benefit.
At the same time, our cities have different maturity levels in the field of smart cities. In line with this, smart city maturity levels are determined by evaluating the smart city capabilities of our cities through Smart City Maturity Evaluation studies, and improvement suggestions are presented in the determined areas.
Smart City Index is created in order to see the strengths and weaknesses of our cities, to identify areas of development, and to provide accurately measured and reliable indicator values for both the institution itself, researchers, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders in line with the results of the Smart city maturity assessment.
With the smart cities maturity assessment studies to be carried out every year, the provision of urban services in a qualified manner and the sharing of experience in smart city transformation will ensure that local governments understand and adopt smart city applications.
